   
Extensions to Sabah - Reef and Rainforest
DAY 1
Arrive at Sandakan airport for transfer to Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre. Trek ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden planks to witness the feeding of the orang utans at 10.00am. Continue 110 km to Sukau - take a 10 minutes boat ride to Sukau Rainforest Lodge for lunch. Late afternoon take a two hour river cruise using electric motor in search of wild Proboscis monkeys as they settle down on treetops along the Kinabatangan River.
Return for solar heated hot shower, candle light dinner and slide show conducted by a naturalist. Overnight at Sukau Rainforest Lodge. (B/L/D)
DAY 02
Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills. Take a morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to view more birds and wildlife. Proceed to the Kelenanap ox-bow lake for a short jungle walk (if weather permits). Experience the wilderness of Borneo. After breakfast take a short tour of Sukau village. Proceed for a river cruise for wild orang utans.
After dinner an optional night safari cruise spotting nocturnal animals, crocodiles and birds. Overnight at Sukau Rainforest Lodge. (B/L/D)
DAY 3
Depart Sukau Rainforest Lodge for Gomantong Caves. Spend the morning exploring the caves and the surrounding forest Proceed overland to Lahad Datu. Drive 83km through selectively logged forest, cocoa and soft wood plantations before arriving at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge beside the Danum River on the edge of 439 sq km of undisturbed lowland forest. The Lodge is home to the full range of Sabah’s lowland fauna.
DAY 4
Early morning bird walk before breakfast. Spend the whole day exploring the forest for birds and mammals. Trek to a waterfall and dip in refreshing rock pools. Overnight at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
DAY 05
Morning trek in search of mammals and birds. Return to the Centre for lunch before departure for the airport.
