DAY 01: Alice Springs

Arrive into Alice Springs, collect your car and drive to your chosen hotel.  Explore the township and in the evening join a bush BBQ and a survey of the stars.

Overnight: (A) Bond Springs Homestead or (B) Lassiters Hotel.

DAY 02: Alice Springs to Glen Helen (150km)

Kings Canyon

(Optional sunrise outback Hot Air Ballooning and Bush Breakfast) Collect your Remote Area Vehicle this morning and head west from Alice through the spectacular Western MacDonnell Ranges.  Simpson's Gap and Standley Chasm have been carved out over centuries by the harsh desert climate.

After arrival at Glen Helen Lodge you could visit Ormiston Gorge.

Overnight at Glen Helen Homestead.

DAY 03: Glen Helen to Kings Canyon (130km)

Continue driving west to visit Palm Valley in the Finke Gorge National Park, then take the Mereenie Loop Road through Tylers Pass for wonderful views of Gosses Bluff before arriving into Kings Canyon.  In the afternoon or next morning take a rim walk or stroll along the floor of the canyon.

Overnight: Kings Canyon Frontier Resort.

DAY 04: Kings Canyon to Ayers Rock (250km)

Head south from Kings Canyon to join the Lasseter Highway into Yulara to arrive early afternoon at your hotel.  If time permits you could visit the Olgas before returning to sunset strip for the famour Ayers Rock Sunset. (Alternative experience sunset from the Sounds of Silence location for desert dune Northern Territory gourmet BBQ and star gazing)

Overnight: (A) Sails in the Desert or (B) Outback Pioneer Hotel.

Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park

DAY 05: Ayers Rock

Early morning perhaps climb the Rock and visit the Olgas before returning your car to the airport for flight departure.

 

 

 

 

 

The Ayers Rock Touring itinerary can of course be extended at any point to include additional car rental and accommodation.  Rates for third person sharing car but occupying own room, or four persons sharing two rooms and one larger car are also available.
