

Tasmania self drive
DAY 01: Arrival
Arrive Devonport by Spirit of Tasmania or by flight into Launceston.
Overnight: (A) Prince Albert Inn (B) The Old Bakery Inn.

DAY 02: Launceston to Cradle Mountain (215km)
Depart on the Bass Highway via Delorine to Elizabeth Town. From here travel across country via Railton, Sheffield and Gowrie Park to cross the Forth River to Daisy Dell and up to Cradle Mountain Lodge for 2 nights.
Overnight: Cradle Mountain Lodge
DAY 03: Cradle Mountain
Spend the day walking around Dove Lake, taking the marked paths and boardwalks. Visit the information centre and the nearby waterfalls.
DAY 04: Cradle Mountain-Strahan(155 km )
Depart Cradle Mountain and head west to join the Murchison Highway. Proceed via Roseberry and turn off through Zeehan into Strahan, a quaint town set in the sheltered Macquarie Harbour. The town is the gateway to wilderness areas and the Franklin River. Stay overnight at the Franklin Manor, a beautiful colonial home offering the highest standards in service and food.
DAY 05: Strahan to Hobart ( 290 km)
Depart Strahan to join the Lyell Highway at Queenstown which eventually runs via New Norfolk into Hobart. Enroute stop off to visit Lake St Clair and Mt Field National Park. Overnight at Lenna of Hobart.
DAY 06: Hobart ( Port Arthur )
Day trip to Port Arthur, the 19th century convict settlement with its wonderful historic ruins. Overnight in Hobart.
DAY 07: Freycinet National Park
Drive to Freycinet National Park, enjoying the beautiful views along the way. At Freycinet, take a walk to the look out and see the wonderful view to the Wineglass Bay.
Continue to Launceston for overnight.
DAY 08: Departure
