The tribal land of Orissa welcomes all with open hands. The largest tribal concentration in the
Indian sub continent is in the south western part of Orissa. There are more than 62 tribal
communities in Orissa . You can enjoy trekking beside the deep gorges and experience the
soft mist of the outback, the local brew and a camp-fire.

Day 01 Arrive Kolkata
On your arrival to Kolkata, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your respective hotel. Stay for the night in that hotel.
Day 02 Kolkata / Vishakhapatnam
The next morning , transfer to the railway station to catch a train to Vishakhapatnam. On your arrival at Vishakhapatnam station first transfer to a hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03 Vishakhapatnam / Jeypore
Morning drive to Jeypore.. Jeypore is the commercial nerve center of Koraput districts. It is blessed with waterfalls and forests. It also has a mix of colorful wild life. Overnight.
Day 04 Jeypore
Take a morning excursion to Onkudeoli to visit the Bonda and Gadaba Tribal Market. This market is held only on Thursday. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 05 Jeypore
Visit the Paraja Tribes at the biggest market at Kundli. Overnight
Day 06 Jeypore
Morning excursion in Jeypore that involves hiking to the Gadaba villages. Enjoy the Gadaba dance. Overnight stay at Jeypore.
Day 07 Jeypore / Rayagada
Drive to Rayagada. On the way visit the market of the Paraja people, Jagannath temple and tribal museum. Overnight stay at the hotel at Rayagada.
Day 08 Rayagada
The morning excursion in Rayagada involves a full day hiking in the Dongariya Kondh villages. In these villages, you will witness women wearing dresses of white cotton togas. They also dress themselves with a flashy array of hairpins, ornaments, ear and nose rings and geometric tattoos.
Day 09 Belghar
Drive to Belghar en route visiting Kutia Kondh markets and villages. These markets were once famous for human sacrifice. Overnight at Belghar.
Day 10 Belghar / Bhubaneshwar
Ttravel to Bhubaneshwar. Bhubaneshwar is popularly known as the "temple metropolis of India''. Bhubaneshwar is the capital of Orissa. It is famous for the world renowned Lingaraja Temple. Overnight stay.
Day 11 Bhubaneshwar
Morning excursion to the different sites of Bhubaneshwar. These tourist attractions include the 2nd century B.C. Jain monk caves at the twin hills of Khandagiri and Udaygiri, the tribal museum,etc. Overnight at Bhubaneswar.
Day 12 Bhubaneshwar
Visit the metal village at Sadeibarini and also the textile weaving villages of Nuapatna and Dokhra. Dhokra casting is a type of metal casting. It is basically a folk craft and is practiced in a few villages of Orissa. Drive to Baliguda after breakfast. Baliguda is in the district of Phulbani. It is a beautiful countryside full of small mountains of Sal forest. It is one of the entry points to the tribal highland of Orissa. On the way you can visit weavers village at Itamati and some of the typical villages in Orissa. Arrive at the hotel in the evening. Overnight you can stay in Baliguda or stay at a hotel in Bhubaneswar.

Day 13 Bhubaneswar / Puri
The next morning drive to Puri en route Heerapur, Pipli, Dhauli and Konark Sun Temple. Dhauli is the place where Emperor Asoka renounced bloodshed and embraced the teachings of Buddhism. Also visit the Shanti Stupa (Peace Pagoda), the Asokan Rock Edicts, etc. These sites were excavated by the emperor throughout his empire. The sculpted elephant atop the edict signifies Ashoka's conversion to Buddhism after his Kalinga victory in 261 BC. Pipli is a colorful village where you can find Orissan Handicrafts, the specialty being aplic work. In Konark, see the very famous Konark Temple (Chariot of The Sun God) built by the Eastern Ganga king, King Narasimha Deva in the thirteenth century A.D. The temple bears testimony to the excellence of art works in Orissa. The Sun Temple has been a beacon to sailors at sea for a number of centuries. It is also referred to as the Black Pagoda. Reach your hotel at night and stay there for the rest of the night.
Day 14 Puri
Spend the next day in Puri again and visit some of the renowned locales. The best attraction of Puri are the fine white sands on the beaches.. These beaches are the favorite spots even for pilgrims. They take their traditional purification dip over here. It is worth watching the spectacle of dazzling sunrise and sunset.
Day 15 Puri
Transfer to the railway station to catch an overnight train to Kolkata.
Day 16 Kolkata
On your arrival to Kolkata do transfer to your hotel. Afternoon city tour covering Victoria Memorial, BBD Bag, Birla Planetarium, Indian Museum, etc. Stay the night over in your hotel.
Day 17 Kolkata
Transfer to the International Airport for your respective destination. |
