Day 01: Chiang Mai/ Thaton / Chiang Rai
08.00 depart from Chiang Mai by rood to Fang and Thaton visiting an elephant training camp, Chiangdao and Lisu hilltribe village en-route. After lunch depart by original motor boats for a 4 hour journey passing through jungle along the banks of the river.  A stop is made at Mae Salah, some hilltribe villages and a cave housing many sacred statues of Lord Buddha before arriving into Chiang Rai for dinner and overnight at the Rimkok Resort or The Legend.

Day 02: Chiang Rai / Mae Sai / Chiang Saen
After breakfast visit a local market before proceeding to the Akha village of Ban Soen Chai and a Yao hilltribe. Continue onwards to Mae Sai, the most northern town in Thailand for lunch. Afterwards proceed to Chiang Saen, the first Thai capital, located on the banks of the Mekong RiverVisit Wat Phra Dhat Jon Kitti climbing 383 steps to the top and Wat Jedi Luang before taking a shot boat ride to the Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos converge. Dinner and overnight at Anantara Resort and Spa or Imperial Golden Triangle Resort.

Day 03: Chiang Saen / Chiang Rai
After breakfast transfer to Chiang Rai for onwards Thai Airways flight (or perhaps extend your stay ?) (Elephant Safari on the Kok River) also (Adventure on the Mae Taeng River).
