Northern India Explorer   Golden Triangle Highlights   Rajasthan Heritage   Wildlife  Desert Experience    Kerala God's own Country   South India Temples Tour      Tribal Tour of Orissa

BEST TIME TO VISIT - The best months to visit is from October - March .  The monsoon season from May to September is best avoided although some destinations such as Kerala offers special monsoon packages to give visitors a taste of the Indian wet weather .

Faces of India

Intoxicating and inimitable, India is so wonderfully diverse that it does not compare with anywhere else in the world!   Your emotions will be challenged, but even the seasoned traveller will be enchanted bythe experience of a journey within this vast subcontinent.

Even so, India is not a destination to be taken lightly.   We strongly recommend that you pack your sense of humour along with infinite patience.

Taj Mahal

North India

From the Himalayas down to the plains of the rivers Ganges and Yamuna, for many visitors North India and Delhi in particular is their introduction to India.  Those visiting Delhi for the first time should allow two days to explore the splendid palaces, forts, tombs, mosques and monuments of Old & New Delhi.

There are several 5 star international hotels including the Oberoi and Taj Groups, but at more reasonable prices we suggest the Claridges Hotel near Connaught Square or perhaps the more colonial Imperial Hotel.

For a taste of cooler hill stations one could head north to Kalkar and take the narrow gauge railcar up to Simla or Darjeeling.

South India

Those travelling from the north have the opportunity to include Bangalore, Mysore and the hill station of Ooty en-route, perhaps incorporating a visit to the wildlife sanctuaries of Bandipur and Mudumalai or Nagarhole.

Khatakali

Having explored Cochin and Ernakulum one is driven down along to Allepey to join a backwater cruise to Kottayam.  It is also possible to travel by private houseboat to Kottayam spending a few nights in this beautifully peaceful environment or maybe stay at the Coconut Lagoon Backwater Resort.

Kerala Houseboats

From Kottayam proceed into the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary for 2 nights at the Spice Village.  There are morning and evening wildlife safaris by boat to see the different species .

From Periyar drive to the hill station of Kodaikanal for overnight and local exploration.  The next day the journey takes us to visit the famous temples in Madurai before proceeding to Tiruchirappalli for 2 nights.   A full day visiting the  temples of Thanjavur and Trichy should be included before transferring to the airport for onwards flight to either Madras or Colombo.
