Iran (Persia)

Iran is one of the oldest cradles of civilisation and the list of significant ancient attractions is endless. It is a vast country almost the size of western Europe, divided into three contrasting regions: mountains, deserts, and forests.

Being a strict Muslim country, Iranians are a proud people, yet display great tolerance, and offer the visitor overwhelming hospitality.  The original Iranians were of course the Persians who migrated from the north and it is of course the Persian culture & history that fascinates  travellers from around the world.

We have put together some example itineraries for your consideration.  As with all journeys organised by Eastravel, each one is arranged on an individual basis and is tailor-made according to the personal preference of each client.  It is also possible to combine Iran with other countries in the Arabian Gulf such as Dubai, Oman, or even The Yemen.  Iran can also be incorporated as a Stop-Over to the Far East or even en-route to Australia & New Zealand!

Persian Highlights - 5 days/4 nights

Day 01: Arrive Tehran in the morning and transfer to the Hotel Laleh or Azadi for overnight.  After lunch you will be taken on a tour of the city to visit the National Jewels Museum where you can see the breathaking pieces used by Afsharieh, Qajar and Pahlavi Kings. In the evening you will visit a traditional restaurant for dinner.

Day 02: After breakfast a half day tour begins with a visit to the Carpet Museum where you can witness the beauty and art of Persian carpets dating back to the 17th century.  Following this is a visit to the Ancient Museum which records to the history of Persia.  After lunch transfer to the airport for a flight to the city of Shiraz.  Arrive and transfer to the Homa Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 03:  After breakfast begin a tour of the ancient sites of Persepolis & Necropolis followed after lunch by a tour of the beautiful old city of Shiraz itself.  In the evening transfer to the airport for a flight to the former capital city of Isfahan. Arrive and transfer to the Hotel Abbasi for dinner and overnight.

Day 04: After breakfast is a full day tour of Isfahan.  You will see Naqsh-e-Jahan Square. Imam Mosque. Chehlsotoun & Ali Qapou Palaces. several ancient bridges and Vank Cathedral in Jolfa. In the evening transfer to the airport for a flight back to Tehran for dinner and overnight at the Hotel Laleh or Azadi.

Day 05: After breakfast transfer to the airport for departure.

 

Persian Discovery - 9 days/8 nights

Day 01: Arrive Tehran in the morning and transfer to the Hotel Laleh or Azadi overnight. After lunch you will be taken on a tour of the city to visit the National Jewels Museum where you can see the breathaking pieces used by Afsharieh. Qajar and Pahlavi Kings. In the evening you will visit a traditional restaurant for dinner.

Following this is a visit to the Ancient Museum which records to the history of Persia. After lunch transfer to the airport for a flight to the city of Kerman. Arrive and transfer to the Grand Tourist Inn for dinner and overnight. Evening city sightseeing is included.

Day 03: After breakfast visit the Princes Garden and Vakil Bath before driving 35 Km south to the city of Mahan to see the shrine of Shah Nematollah-e-vali and Shahzadeh Garden.  From Mahan proceed out into the desert to explore the ancient fortified Citadel of Bam. Return to Kerman for dinner and overnight.

Day 04: After breakfast commence an exciting overland discovery journey across southern Iran from Kerman to Shiraz. Arrive in the afternoon for dinner and overnight at the Hotel Homa.

Day 05: After breakfast begin a tour of the ancient sites of Persepolis & Necropolis followed after lunch by a tour of the beautiful old city of Shiraz itself. Dinner and overnight in Shiraz.

Day 06: After breakfast visit the tombs of the great Poets Hafez and Saadi. ancient Vakil Mosque and the bazars. Late afternoon transfer to the airport for flight to Isfahan.  Arrive and transfer to the Hotel Abbasi for dinner and overnight.

Day 07: After breakfast is a full day tour of Isfahan.  You will see Naqsh-e-Jahan Square. Imam Mosque. Chehlsotoun & Ali Qapoo Palaces. several ancient bridges and Vank Cathedral in Jolfa. Dinner and overnight in Isfahan.

Day 08: A full day at leisure for shopping and exploring this fascinating city on your own. In the evening transfer to the airport for a flight back to Tehran.  Arrive and transfer to the Hotel Laleh or Azadi for dinner and overnight.

Day 09: After breakfast transfer to the airport for departure.
