East Malaysia Nature And Wildlife Explorer Day 1 - London to Kuching Depart London Heathrow to Kuching via Kuala Lumpur or Singapore . Day 2 - Arrival Arrive and transfer yourselves to the Holiday Inn Hotel for overnight. Day 3 - Bako National Park Pick up from hotel for Full Day Bako National Parktravel by car and then long boat for one and a half hours to sample Sarawaks treasure of birds, animals, long nose Proboscis monkeys, sambar deer and monitor lizards. Overnight at the National Park Resthouse. Day 4 - Bako to Skrang Pick up from Bako early morning for SKRANG River Safari. A 230km land journey that takes you through extensive forests, oil palm and pepper plantation, logging camps and padi-fields. Stop for lunch at Lachau and continue the rest of your journey by long boat. Arrive at the Longhouse for traditional dinner. Overnight at the Longhouse. (OPTIONAL BATANG Al OR LEMANAK SAFARI AVAILABLE) Day 5 - Skrang After breakfast, proceed by native longboat upstream along the Skrang River to BELAIEE Longhouse. The journey will take 2 hrs by boat. Lunch at the Longhouse. Participate in an exciting hunt with the Ibans, using Native blowpipes. Overnight at the Longhouse. Day 6 - Skrang to Miri Breakfast at the crack of dawn before commencing your journey back to Kuching Airport. Depart by Malaysia Airlines flight to Miri. Arrive and transfer to the Holiday Inn for overnight. Day 7 - Mulu Depart 07.30 hrs to the airport for your scenic 35 minutes flight to Mulu. Arrive and transfer by longboat to Park Headquarters. Trek 3 km on plank-walk through rain-forest to Deer and Lang Caves. After lunch explore Deer Cave, clamber over rocks to visit the Garden of Eden. Await at the Observatory station for the exit of hundreds of thousands of bats leaving the cave at dusk. Return to Headquarters for dinner and overnight. Day 8 - Mulu to Kota Kinabalu After breakfast, proceed to Clearwater and Wind Caves by boat. Observe the spectacular stalactite and stalagmite formations. Brief stop at the Penan Settlement at Batu Bungan before transfer to the airport for your flight to Kota Kinabalu via Miri. Arrive and transfer yourselves to the Hyatt Regency Hotel for 2 nights. Day 9 - Kota Kinabalu Day at leisure. Optional visits to the Mengkabong Water Village and Kudat Longhouses. Day 10 - Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan Transfer to the airport for Malaysia Airlines flight to Sandakan. Arrive and proceed overland to the Gomantong Caves. Spend the morning exploring the caves. Proceed on to the Sukau for a river cruise in search of the Proboscis Monkeys. Overnight at the River Lodge. Day 11 Sandakan to Turtle Island Arrive and transfer to the Jetty for speed boat to Selingan Island (Turtle Island Park). Arrive for overnight at the Park Chalets. After dinner, prepare to watch the green turtles come ashore to lay eggs.
Day 12 -Turtle Island to Kota Kinabalu Return to Sandakan by boat and drive to the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary in time for the feeding. Visit Puu Jih Shih Temple followed by a city tour of Sandakan before transfer to the airport for flight to Kota Kinabalu. Arrive for overnight at the Berjaya Palace Hotel.
Day 13 - Mt Kinabalu Climb Commence 3 days / 2 nights Mt Kinabalu Summit Tour. Transfer to Kinabalu Park. On arrival explore the park surroundings and mountain garden. Overnight at the Kinabulu Park Hostel headquarters. Day 14 - Mt Kinabalu After breakfast, transfer from Park HQ to the power station and start your trek to Laban Rata (10,700 ft). The trek takes about 5 hrs and on the way witness four different types of vegetationlowland forest / montane / mossy and sub-alpine. Lunch provided in boxes. Overnight at the Laban Rata Resthouse.
Day 15 - Ascent Continue your climb to the summit at 03.00 hrs. The trek will take 3 hrs. Torchlight and guide provided. Reach the summit in time to catch the magnificent sunrise. Leisurely descent to Laban Rata before trekking down to Park HQ and to Kota Kinabulu for 3 nights at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Day 16 -Padas Whitewater Spectacular Transfer by coach to Beaufort. On arrival board a train and proceed to the starting point at Panggi along the Padas Gorge. Embark on an exciting rafting adventure, shooting through rapids whilst enjoying the splendour of the tropical rainforest. Return to Beaufort by train and transfer by coach to your hotel. Day 17 - Full day to Gaya Island by boat. Explore the trails that leads through coastal vegetation, mangrove swamp and tropical rainforest. Day 18 - Departure .
