Sumatra & Kalimantan

Sumatra

Medan is the capital of North Sumatra and Indonesia's third largest city.  From Medan it is possible to take an overland tour travelling through huge plantations of Rubber, Palm Oil, Cacao to Parapat, Lake Toba and Samosir Island.

From Samosir Island, one can either return to Media via Berastagi and the Leuser National Park, or proceed across Sumatra into the Minangkabau Highlands and the charming town of Bukittinggi, before departing from Padang.

We can also arrange a tour from Jakarta to the Way Kambas National Park or Bukit Barisan Nature Reserve in southern Sumatra, the home of the Sumatran tiger.

To complete your journey don't overlook the fact that Darwin in the Australian Northern Territories is only a short flight away!

Kalimantan

Kalimantan, part of Borneo, is one of the most mysterious islands in the world.  We can arrange a trip from Balikpapan up the Mahakam River to stay overnight in a traditional Dayak Longhouse.   Alternatively by flying into Pangkalan Bun one can travel overland to stay at Camp Leakey, part of the Tanjung Puting Nature Reserve.
